:)

My husband is so sweet because when he got home from work last Thursday he brought me flowers in celebration of our first weekend together as a married couple! (his work week goes from Sunday-Thursday) We are just about done bringing up and down large loads of stuff and our little apartment is becoming more homey everyday. All and all- Married Life is Good.

Peace.

As I continue to look back and the whole wedding experience one word instantly comes to mind- Peace. I know it may be hard to believe because planning a wedding IS very stressful, and draining. Don't get me wrong- there were many frustrations, tears and wavering emotions through this whole process of getting married, but God never failed to provide me peace. It was the one thing I asked for the most, and it was amazing how God provided.

When March 20th rolled around I felt completely at ease about how the day was going to happen. Now when I say that, I don't mean I was without major nerves- because all I could get down for breakfast was some toast, sierra mist, and pepto! but everything we had spent so much time planning I was confident that everything would be how it should. I had amazing people helping us throughout the entire day and I had the expectation that something would go wrong so just let it happen and move on.

I had nerves about that right thing and that was walking down that aisle (in front of a lot of people) and standing before my best friend who would become my husband.

All that to say- praise to God the giver of Peace that surpasses all understanding- for I experienced that in great amounts!

we made it!

Hello everyone-
so we made it through the big day and have been settling into our apartment. Seattle was wonderful and married life is great!!! A more detailed post will hopefully be up soon- but seeing there is no internet in our apartment (yet?) it won't be as quick as I would like. stay tuned!

week of relaxation.

Yes it is true, we are 5 days away from the big day and I had a few hours to sit and relax. This was our goal from the start to have everything we could possibly have done- done the week of the wedding. None of us wanted this week full of, "well we should have done this earlier..."

Tomorrow we do start the crazy adventure of flowers- but I am optimistic and excited because we have the beautiful and talented Mahin helping us out! Other than flowers, all thats left is finishing touches with packing (oh how I dislike packing) and rehearsal.

My mom and I keep saying to one another, "what are we going to do when this is all done?" Perhaps we will have a ceremonial recycling of all our lists- because we are excellent list makers.

So I spent some time today sitting in the sun in the living room leisurely paging through Food and Family magazines excited to have time again to cook and bake! yum :)

MU-ZAK

We went over to the Barringer's home last week to go over the music details w/ Naomi (and join them for dinner- Mexican of course :). Jim was our YP growing up, and he and his wife Naomi both had a significant impact on both of our lives...

We picked out five songs for our day, that she will be playing throughout the ceremony. Hearing her do even the partial previews of each, seriously made us almost start crying... can't wait for you to hear them on that day!

Their home is a total atmosphere of love... from the ways they teach, care for, and discipline the boys, to how they relate to each other is inspiring for our future. One thing I always thought about the two of them, is that they are living/breathing/practical examples of what following Christ really looks like in daily living... so glad our lives are connected!

2 weeks today!!!

Two weeks today we will be getting ready for our wedding!! Things are coming together as we finalize EVERYTHING!

Nesting has begun.

This past weekend Josh and a few good men showed their strength and muscle and moved us in to our new place. While I still have some things to bring over the majority is now being unpacked. We celebrated our first official day there with friends, Chipotle and a little roller derby :) and according to Josh- the place sleeps well. Only 22 more days until I am an AV resident as well!

Mrs. Chiquita and Mr. Dole

For the past few days I have been packing, trying to get as much as I can ready for this weekend! The funny part is that I am packing all my precious belongings into boxes that once contained the one thing in this world that I loathe....BANANAS! yuck, I hope my stuff does not come out smelling like them.

Tomorrow begins the weekend move- which is much anticipated since my parents house right now looks quite cluttered and out of control! And to all those that will be helping here is a big THANK YOU in advance.

One Month

One month.

Yesterday morning we met w/ Hammy to go over the ceremony details, and it just hit me how incredibly real this is all becoming...

One month.

The idea of this wedding has been ingrained in our minds for a while, but now it is so close that it will soon illuminate all senses!

One month...

Rehearsal = One Month

All right all you faithful readers- can you believe it! One month today we will be rehearsing for our wedding. Seriously it is mind blowing. Even amongst all this planning it still doesn't seem real. I even started packing a few things yesterday from the kitchen and it just feels like I am going back to college rather than packing for my new home! Wow- how fast life changes, but how exciting this new route will be!

A winter wonderland wedding

So I am finally coming to grips that it is going to be full blown winter wonderland wedding. I had hoped in the far way back of my mind that there would be little to no snow- seeing that this past March there was no snow....but as our winter season progresses that thought is quickly fleeting. Oh well! If there shall be snow than it shall be the BEST winter wedding this state has ever seen!

valentines day tragedy

Seeing that Valentines Day this year was on a Sunday- Josh and I had decided that we would go out for breakfast before church for our v-day date. We dined at the lovely Panera eating scrumptious bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches along with an apple pastry and orange juice. Once we had gotten our food we were trying to find a good place to sit- we were about to sit down at a table by the window when Josh noticed a tragedy just outside. There on the ground was a little dead robin on Valentines Day. We decided that this poor soul died of a broken heart, on Valentines Day!!!- oh once we briefly mourned for our little friend, we found a new table and enjoyed our breakfast along with a little kings in the corner action! We both thoroughly enjoyed our first Valentines Day using the word "LOVE" :)

Our "Divining" Room

Josh and I have been so blessed to have so many people donating furniture to our future cause called marriage! So far we have a TV hutch, night stands, a love seat, multiple chairs, a coffee table, and a kitchen table.

The kitchen table is currently in my parents living room- as it was the only place we could store it until we move into our new place. Josh and I had our first meal at our table the other night by candle light! haha- it was quite enjoyable.

So a big BIG thank you to all those that have been generous in helping us have places to sit and store. You all are greatly appreciated!

(Divining Room = a combination of a living room and dining room)

the chain is getting shorter

I have officially moved my countdown chain to my room because it fits! It is hard to believe that it has almost been a year since we got engaged. Planning is still going strong and now we are hammering out the details. You never think when you are attending weddings how everything you see, hear, eat, or smell- that there was a decision or many decisions to have that set in place.

We will be in a third level apartment which has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, vaulted ceilings, a cute little balcony and much much more :) We are excited to have friends and family over to our new place, but mostly a place to create memories of our first year of marriage!
